The prophecy[/glow]
The prophecy[/glow]
Isabell walked in the old alley between the grocery store and Goodwill. The puffy gray clouds loomed over her as if to say, “Yes, we were made to make your life worse.” Alongside her were two dogs that would not stop following her. They had been following her for about a day now. They were kind and did not mind having them. But she was sure their owners missed them dearly.
One was a white golden retriever which she thought was odd but she did not pay much attention to it. She thought the dog was quit handsome. He had some fur over his eyes, big strong paws. A long flowing tail that did not touch the cold wet ground. His fur had a pattern in it of circles. And he seemed to never let his tail stop wagging.
.The other one was an Irish setter, she was beautiful! Her fur was red and brown. A gingered color; her hair was fairly long and her eyes like chocolate storms that sucked you in and never let you go. She held herself up as if to say “I know I am strong powerful and beautiful. And there is nothing you can do about it!” She seemed like a leader. Strong, she held her self up. But she also seemed like a lonely little puppy that just wanted to play with you.
“Why do you guys want to follow me!?!?” Isabell asked the dogs as she sat on an old yard chair. She folded her hands in her lap then sighed looking at the two dogs. She then smiled and pet the white golden retriever. It seemed like he was smiling, so she finished what she was saying softly as she kept petting him. “I do not have a home or extra food. Only me, not even parents.” Isabell went on. Then she saw an old pair of head-phones, they were laying on the ground by a trash can with it's lid off. She got up and walked over to them, for some reason it seemed like she was being drawn over to them. And they were pink, she picked them up just because she could. And they seemed to have something about them that she just WANTED! Then she went spinning aimlessly in circles, the only things she could see were the two dogs. They just sat there looking up at her.
Everything else was black. Then she landed on the ground. She looked around and she was in a meadow. In the meadow she saw small pools and could hear the trickling of water. She was laying on the ground. She then got up and brushed her self off. She did not pay much attention as the two dogs trotted off. They were sniffing the ground and wagging their tales. Isabel was shocked with what lied before her. He mind was bent and she swirled the thoughts in her mind. It felt like her head would explode! Isabel started to walk and then looked in her reflection. She then looked up as she heard a sound in the woods. She could not see much because it was dark. Only some sunlight made it's way through the trees.
She looked for the source of the sound then saw a tiger coming out of the forest. She stood not knowing what to do, for in New York the dangers you had to face were muggers. Not tigers. But the tiger did not seem to be angry or anything. So she stood still. “Hello, I am Tiger Strip. And you are?” The tiger said. Isabell fell backwards and managed to hold herself back up, “I-I-Isabell” “Isabell what?” Tiger Strip said. “I-Isabell Goldheart.” Isabell was able to say. “Follow me miss Goldheart.” Tiger Strip ordered. And so she did. They walked in silence for Isabell was scared to break it. Then she saw a castle made out of entwined tree and vines. With some flowers also on it. “Come inside” said Tiger Strip. So she did. inside it was WONDERFUL! Instead of floor there was grass. As green as could be, and it was lush. Then dog woods and cherry trees were in bloom. And it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen it even made her forget the dogs and New York.
The stairs were made of roots that had been polished. “You wait here, Miss Goldheart. I shale go get the king.” Tiger Strip said. “Y-yes sir.” Said Isabell. The thing she thought the coolest was that all the roots and trees were white. Isabell was not easily amazed but right here she was. Isabell was 14 years old and an orphan. She was not a thin girl or a fat girl she weighed about 50 pounds over normal weight. And she couldn’t care less. Finley Tiger Strip came back in. “I am now pronouncing the King of Melody his majesty!” Tiger Strip announced. And a teenage boy came in about 6 feet tall. His hair was down to his middle ear. And was not trimmed evenly. He was wearing a pair of jeans and a long sleeved poufy shirt that was white and purple. That did not look warm enough to wear in the winter but something to wear in the Spring. He had stopped at the top of the stairs he was studying her. It seemed like he was delighted to see her... Isabel was confused by this, why would all of thees people be happy to HER?
Then hedid the LAST thing she would have expected him to do, he slid down the railing!
She opened her eyes a little wider, and then she put them back to the normal size.
She smiled at him, and he held out a hand for her to shake. She shook it “I am Isabell Goldheart.”
Isabell said o him still shaking his hand. “And I am King White, but you can call me Sasha.” He said looking her in the eyes then broke the hand shake. “Were am I?” Isabell asked
thinking it sounded very dumb to them. Like if somebody were to come up to her in the middle of New York and ask her were they were it would sound pretty stupid to her; but maybe not to the person asking. “Well you are in the land of Melody of course!” He said outstretching his arms smiling. “Really?” She asked “uh, yeah.” He answered oddly. “And I know you came from earth right?” He said smiling and putting his hands down. “Um, yeah I am still on earth right…….” She said really confused. “No you are on Lavanda and Melody, the planet used to be called Harmony but then we split into war.” He said “Are these your dogs by the way?”
He asked petting the white one. “Yeah they are mine.”
She said then laughed slightly. “Do they have names?” Sasha asked her. I shrugged then answered “No…. Ginger for the brown one….. And Plato for the white one!”
She said smiling “Why Plato?”
He asked, “Well there in my world is a….”
She looked to see his confused look. “I like the name,” She answered he nodded.
“I need to find a way home.” She said standing straight again and stopped petting the dog.
“I am sorry but there would be no use, even if you were able to find a way back.” He said looking sadly at her and stopped petting the dog that was in front of him.
“Why?” She asked it was not like she really wanted to go back; she had nothing there. But it was her home…. It was her planet.
He looked at her even more sad, “Because time her and earth has a great deference, as in an hour here it would be a week there. As you know we are on another world days have already passed.” Sasha answered to her.
“Oh, are you sure?” Isabell asked a little shocked.
“Yes, we have done many tests.” He said looking at her,
“Okay, well since I am here, I might as well get to know about it.” She said she was sad on the inside but tried not to let it show.
Sasha smiled a little brightening up; for he did not know that she was faking not to be sad. “Well fist would you like your room here at the castle?” he asked out stretching an arm up the stairs.
“Yes please.” Isabell answered nodding then started to go up the stairs with Sasha at her side. After they reached a shut door he opened it; there was a large room and a wool bed with roots and wool. She could tell nothing was killed to make it, not even a tree limb.
“So do you hunt?” She asked looking around the room which did not have light bulbs but fire. “And how do you have light by fire and not have everything burn up?”
Isabell asked looking around the room then sitting on the bed.
It was much softer then she thought it would be.
Sasha seemed to be insulted by the first question, “No! We never hunt! Why kill? Is that what they do on Earth?” He said ignoring her last question;
“Yeah we do, I have always been against it though. I believe that animals have feelings and soles and they are the same as use!” She protested she did not want him to think she was like a hunter! She hated hunters she thought it was so wrong what they did!
“Good and they do the dogs that follow you they can talk now that they are in Melody. And so they follow you because they know you are the one.”
Sasha said sitting in a chair across to the side of the bed. “What do you mean ‘the one’?”
Isabell asked confused and looking at him. “You are the one in the prophecy, the one that has been over Melody for the last 8 years, and now you are finally here!” Sasha said smiling.
But Isabell was really confused now she had no idea what he was talking about! “What prophecy?” She asked wanting to learn as much as she could! She needed to know what this is about, she needed to! Maybe the people in Melody actually wanted her, maybe they did not want to leave her on the streets and then never see her again; like her parents did. She had hope; she had a feeling that this place would be the place where she belonged!
“Okay this is the prophecy
In the meadow you will find her there,
The one of a Golden Heart and long Black Hair,
The one who will beat Lavenda and save the King,
And make the piece that once has been.”
Sasha finished and looked at Isabell, “I think that is you.” He stated looking at her wandering face.
“Who even told this?” Isabell asked looking back at Sasha,
“I don’t know it was a long time ago and the story has been going for 8 years; many deferent names and things have been going around” Sasha answered to her.
Isabell nodded and thought she would think about it more latter; when she had the time to. “When is dinner?” she asked changing the subject then added, “Sorry but I have not eaten a good meal in days!” Isabell said smiling faintly at him.
“Of course, we can go eat now; it has been waiting. I am sorry I just thought you might have wanted to talk about the prophecy and see your room before we ate.” He answered getting up the walking out the door with her.
They walked on the white roots that made the floor and walls ect. Then they went down a narrow stair case and into a largish dining room. She sat down across him and smiled the table was not too long and not too wide. “So my other question was how does this whole place not burn down?” Isabell asked getting comfortable in the seat.
Sasha laughed, “Well we use magic,” He said grabbing some baked potatoes.
“Magic? How?” Isabell asked grabbing some as well.
Sasha chuckled again, “Well all humans have it all we do is make the wood fire proof.”
He said then saw Isabell’s confused look, “Here let me show you.” He said then pointed his pointer finger up it sat there for around 10 seconds then a little flame appeared. He then waved it threateningly around the wood and on it, but like his finger, it just went over it no damage done; not even making it hot! “How do you do that?” Isabell said as he put out the flame and took a bite of food. Sasha had not eaten at all, he seemed so entertained; “Well I just use some spells and some things I control with my mind.
Like all of the money here is made of water, it ripples and moves but you can hold it and it has an invisible case and you can’t feel or see it. But it is there,” he finished smiling then pulling out a five from his pocket Isabell reached forward and held the money. It was like nothing she had ever felt before! Cool and soft she did not get wet she could bend it. “What is this feeling?” She asked “That is Magic!” He said smiling. Isabel's heart pounded in her chest as she heard the word, she smiled then took another bite of food.
A toucan flew in the room and flew around the table. “How is your food!” she asked in a cheerful pippie voice. She seemed so happy!
“We are doing fine Laliza! And the food is marvelous!” Sasha assured her.
Isabel laughed softly. “Yes, we are doing fine!” she said smiling at the bird then whipped her mouth.
“Ohhhh,” Laliza said soothingly and then looked at Isabel as though she had just noticed her. “So, THE Isabel Goldenheart likes my food? Oh, is she the one Sasha?” Laliza purred. Sasha nodded, “Yes she is the one.” he said calmly and looked in Isabel's eyes.
After supper Sasha had shown her his room that was right next to hers then gone to sleep. Isabel now sat laying on her bed looking at the in twined roots that made the ceiling in many patterns. The tree seemed to have it's own personality that she could read in the roots. It was like it's history, or journal. There was a large window that blew the curtains and led to a secret balcony. Moonlight poured through it in beams. She listened to the sound of the workers cleaning up for the night, the calm chirping of birds, and the faint sounds of Plato snoring at her feet. She then got up and went over to the wall where her bow and arrows lay. The bow was made of white wood, with wooden vines and flowers rapping around it. But the wooden vines and flowers were painted gold. We have been waiting to give this to the girl of the prophecy. Sasha had said. She studied it then picked up her quiver and swung the leather strap under one arm and over the other. She then thought she would go on the balcony and look out before going down to the practice field.
Isabel slipped through the window and looked out, the moon was full and it was beautiful. She had not gotten a full tour of the castle yet and could not wait! The castle was huge and beautiful. She sighed then slipped back in her room. She looked one last time at her dogs then she was gone. Gliding quietly down the hall like a ghost, she then slipped down the stairs and into the main entrance of the castle. She looked at the doors then turned and went behind the first stair case and down another flight of stairs.
After some time she arrived at the archery room, then fire light in the candles flickered. She could see some of the targets but not too clear, why would they put NO candles around the targets? Maybe they meant to, maybe she needed to practice why there was no light... She thought this over then nocked an arrow. She then shot her arrow whizzing by the target. She sighed then nocked another and another. Each time getting closer to the middle.
After a while of shooting she had gotten 23 in the center. She yawned and looked around for a clock but saw none. “How do they tell the time here?” Isabel asked herself with a sigh.
“We look at the Moons or the sun.” A cat-like voice purred behind her.
Isabel jolted around and pointed her bow at who was behind her. It was Tiger Stripe. She lowered her bow, “Oh, it is just you. I do apologize.”Isabel said tipping her head. Tiger Stripe chuckled, “No, do not! It is a good thing you assumed enemy and and not friend. That could save your life some day.” He said softly .
Isabel nodded, “Wait MoonS?” she asked just noticing what he had said. The tiger nodded,
“Yes, here in Melody we have 12 Moons.” Tiger Stripe said plainly.
Isabel's eyes widened some, “12 Moons!” she said then ran over to one of the windows. She then looked up in the sky, sure enough. There were 12 large Moons hanging in the sky. “Oh my gosh!” Isabel said surprised. “So what time is it?” she asked Tiger Stripe.
“Well it is 3 Am.” Tiger Stripe said. “How do you know!” Isabel asked excitedly. She thought it would be SO hard!
“Well, we do time here just like we do on Earth. And so look at those Moons like you would a clock. And then see which one is the brightest.” Tiger Stripe said to her. A small gust of wind rushed through the window and blew her hair back. Isabel studied it for a while then saw the pattern come out before her. “Well the third Moon is the brightest!” Isabel answered then looked over at Tiger Stripe who was standing by her looking out the window as well.
He nodded and smiled, “Yes it is,” he said then looked at her.
Most people would fear Tiger Stripe or feel uneasy around him at least. But Isabel felt safe around him, she knew he was loyal and she would trust him with her life. His fur ruffled as another breeze came through the window.
Isabel then looked up at the Moons again, “It is so convenient that it looks EXACTLY like a clock.” Isabel said softly.
Tiger Stripe let out a small laugh, “No, it is not a convenience that they look the same at all. See many many many years ago, when Earth and Harmony lived in peace. The humans came and took the idea of our Moons and made the clock you have now.” Tiger Stripe answered her. He looked at the stars the entire time she looked at him as he told the story.
He then looked at her at last, “So Miss Goldenheart, shall you be heading to bed?” he asked her. She nodded smiling at him. She then started to walk up to her room with him along her side.
Once they reached her room, Tiger Stripe looked her in the eyes, “Miss Goldenheart, I am honored to fight with you. And I am amazed I am alive why you are here. I never thought I would see the day...” He dipped his head. Isabel was shocked! She NEVER thought someone would... “I am glad to serve under you my Lady Hunter.” He said then put his head up, flashed her one more smile then left to go to his room.
Isabel NEVER in all her years thought someone would say anything even LIKE that to her. She smiled then went in her room and shut the door softly trying not to wake Plato or Ginger. She then pulled herself in bed and dozed off. Today, or this month, was the best day or month in her life!
